The Fox Lake area is ripe for a Rowing Club! We are mainly recreational & fitness rowers/scullers. Most of our sculling is done in recreational and open water rowing shells and a few racing shells as well.
Many of our club members own their own boats, Eventually the club may own equipment for members to use & for lessons but in the meantime, Midwest Rowing,LLC has been kind enough to make boats available for the club to use. (http://www.midwestrowing.net )
The club will hold informal 'Learn to row days' as well as local outings and practices. We may also travel to regattas and distance races if there is sufficient interest in the club.
If there is enough interest we can formalize and charge dues/buy boats/have outings/plan trips to events, etc.
We are working jointly with the Southern Wisconsin Rowing Club in Lake Geneva (see other meetup group) and also with Midwest Rowing, LLC to help get this club going/growing.
